The secret is out...

Artisans of the Gap
Gallery and Working Studios
Valerie Dowdy, Carol Ingram Moore & Fiona Zahnke

Greetings,
For the past few days I have been busy working on a new adventure for myself (and my two partners in crime). We are now ready to openly talk about what it is that we have been up to, and here are a few pictures to start the conversation.  Remember you are looking at a work in progress.

We are located in downtown Big Stone Gap, Virginia on Wood Ave.  There are 3 of us, all female artisans, and members of Round the Mountain Artisan Trail.  I am a painter (as you already know),  Fiona Zahnke is a potter and weaver/spinner and last but not least is Carol Ingram Moore, a jewelry maker/fused glass artist.  There will be a blog for our business that offers more details a little later.

Each of will be featuring our original pieces together under one roof, and creating/working in our spaces as well.  Yes, that is what I said, working studios.   As we hammer out the last of the details and finish up preparing our space, please feel free to drop by and visit if you see us working in the shop.

We are very excited to get our doors open, and plan to have an open house the first Friday in April.  We are very proud to be a part of our community and hope to work together with other local businesses to create lots of reasons to visit downtown, and of course SELL SOME ART!  So remember, if you are looking for a unique or special gift for someone remember to stop by and look around and buy local.

Peace,
Valerie
