WORK IN PROGRESS

I am currently working on another piece in the surreal trees series. The photos I am posting show the current progress and a close up section of details.

This piece of art has been a companion to me during the week, as I lunch. Normally, I never carry work, but it is a good experience and a way to challenge my creativity from a different perspective.

Creativity is the key element to developing, adapting and evolving as an artist. Yet, so many artisans express feelings of frustration and lack of inspiration. I believe this comes from allowing ourselves to entrench in a comfort level, giving freedom to fear and providing a source to destroy motivation, and foster feelings of stagnation.

If instead, we could give ourselves permission and freedom to bridge the mysterious, murky gray areas, and let go of a strangle-hold on contentment, we will then unearth the many facets of vision, artistry, originality and creativity we desire. Then, and only then can we begin to fulfill that desire for creativity and a more developed proficiency in our art.

....Don't be afraid to fail. Don't waste energy trying to cover up failure. Learn from your failures and go on to the next challenge. It's OK to fail. If you're not failing, you're not growing.... (not my quote)

Words to live by,
Peace
Valerie
